About the Author

Hi, I’m Ganesh.

I build secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architectures on AWS.

With over 12+ years of hands-on experience in the Amazon Web Services ecosystem, I have watched the cloud evolve from simple EC2 instances to the complex, AI-driven landscape we navigate today.

I started AWSCat.com with a single mission: to cut through the noise and provide production-ready scripts, governance patterns, and deep-dive tutorials for engineers who need things to work.

The Journey (12+ Years in the Cloud)

My journey with AWS began when “The Cloud” was still a buzzword. I’ve architected solutions ranging from monolithic migrations to serverless microservices. Having lived through the evolution of the platform, I don’t just know how to use a service—I know why it was built and the architectural patterns that stand the test of time.

Areas of Expertise

My work focuses on the intersection of Security Governance, Cost Optimization, and Modern Infrastructure.

🛡️ Security & Governance at Scale

Securing a single account is easy. Securing an organization with hundreds of accounts is an art. I specialize in:

  • SCPs (Service Control Policies): Crafting “guardrails” that prevent security drift without hindering developer velocity.
  • RCPs (Resource Control Policies): Implementing the next generation of data perimeter controls.
  • IAM & Identity: Designing least-privilege access models that actually function in the real world.

🤖 Generative AI & Bedrock

As organizations rush to adopt AI, I focus on the infrastructure that makes it safe.

  • Amazon Bedrock: deploying secure agents, managing model access, and ensuring data privacy within LLM workflows.
  • AI Governance: Blocking unauthorized models and tracking AI spend across the organization.

🏗️ Compute & Containers

From bare metal to orchestration, I manage the engines that power applications.

  • ECS & EKS: deeply experienced in both Elastic Container Service and Kubernetes on AWS.
  • EC2 & S3: The bread and butter. Advanced lifecycle management, performance tuning, and storage tiering.

💰 Cloud Financial Management (FinOps)

I believe that cost is a metric of efficiency. I build automated solutions (using Boto3 and Config) that:

  • Track “invisible” costs like data transfer and API calls.
  • Auto-remediate wasted resources (orphaned snapshots, stopped instances).
  • Architect for Spot Instances and Savings Plans.

Why AWSCat?

You won’t find “Hello World” tutorials here. AWSCat is a repository of the hard-learned lessons, Boto3 automation scripts, and edge-case solutions that I use in my daily work as a Cloud Architect.

Whether you are looking to block specific Bedrock agents using SCPs or trying to debug a stubborn EKS cluster, I hope these resources save you the hours of troubleshooting that I spent figuring them out.

Let’s Connect

I am always open to discussing complex cloud challenges or new architectural patterns.
